Ovaltine Fruit Dip

Lately every gathering I attend has some variation of cream cheese dip.

You just can’t go wrong with cream cheese and almost anything goes with it.

It is magical.

I made this for my Ovaltine Awesome Wholesome Backyard Party.  It was inspired by a recipe on Meals.com called Ovaltine Dippers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1 1/4 cups of Ovaltine
  • Things to dip:  strawberries, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, graham cracker sticks, animal crackers, pretzels, etc.

Directions:

  • Let cream cheese warm to room temperature.
  • Mix Ovaltine slowly into the milk and blend with a fork until it is dissolved and resembles chocolate syrup.
  • Add Ovaltine and milk mixture to cream cheese and beat until smooth.

Serve with fruit and crackers.

I was a little skeptical at first as to what Ovaltine and cream cheese would taste like together, but it is yummy.

Seriously.

Ryan(10) who is a picky eater told me that it was the best thing I had ever made.

Ovaltine dip with fruit At the party, the kids were gobbling it up – some with a spoon sans fruit and crackers and the moms were asking for the recipe.

It is a creamy version of fondue that is much easier to handle for serving.

The next day we paired it with crepes and strawberries for breakfast…yep, watch for that recipe soon!
